IT issues can really hold us and our businesses back.
Whilst some require expert support, others can be more simple to solve.
That being said, in this blog post, we’re troubleshooting 4 common IT issues for you.
Hopefully these easy-to-follow solutions help get you and your business back on track quicker, but if not, you can always call on the experts – we recommend Aspect IT (that’s us 😉 you can contact our team to discuss your business’s IT needs on 0161 241 9050 / info@aspectit.co.uk).
Slow Internet
You may notice that your internet is slow if web pages take a long time to load or video calls lag.
First, try restarting your router – turn it off, wait 10-15 seconds and turn it back on again. If that doesn’t work, try closing any apps you have running in the background of your device and disconnect any unused devices from the network. If that fails, reach out to your ISP / IT provider.
Slow Computers
What’s worse than slow internet? A slow computer!
If your computer is taking a long time to start up, or everything just seems to be running slowly, try restarting it – it’s basic, but it can sometimes help.
If it’s still slow, open up task manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc (on Windows). From here you’ll be able to see what’s running on your computer, which means you can close anything that’s not needed. You should also check your computer for updates. It’s really important you keep all of your devices, not just your computer, up to date – it aids both performance and security.
Pinters Not Printing
Printers have one job… to print. When they stop doing that job, it’s frustrating!
If you find yourself in this situation, first check your connections. Ensure the printer is connected to the computer and Wi-Fi (if it’s wireless). If it’s already connected, try restarting the printer, clearing the print queue and checking for paper jams.
Emails Not Sending / Receiving
Finally, if you find that your emails aren’t coming in, or your sent emails are bouncing back to you, try checking your internet – emails require a connection to work properly. If you’re still having issues, make sure to look in your spam folders or consider archiving old emails to free up space (many email providers have storage limits so your inbox may be full!).
