Just over 6 months ago, to celebrate our 20th business anniversary, we committed to doing 20 Good Deeds.
To give you some context, we defined those Good Deeds as actions we, Aspect IT, would take as a company to benefit and better the lives of people, our community, the environment and our employees.
We’ve since been unveiling each Good Deed one by one on our blog and social media. Here’s a quick recap in case you missed any:
- Good Deed 1: Marketing Materials for Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid

Peter Accompanies ‘Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid’ on a Visit to Ukraine
Just before Christmas, for Good Deed 10, our director, Peter, accompanied voluntary group, Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid, on one of their trips to Ukraine where they delivered presents to children in an orphanage.
If you’ve been following our Good Deed journey, the name ‘Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid’ may sound familiar and that’s because we’ve worked with the group before, providing marketing material to help promote their cause and build their network.
The work being carried out by the group is not only inspiring, but also close to Peter’s heart. He is of Ukrainian descent and has family in Ukraine who, like so many, have been affected by the war.
Peter has worked with Tim, the group’s founder, for a while now and had contemplated joining them on a trip to deliver humanitarian aid to Ukraine many times. Unfortunately, things had always cropped up and conflicted with his plans.
In December however, the stars aligned! The group were planning to head to Ukraine again, this time to deliver presents to an orphanage, and with Peter’s calendar finally looking somewhat free, he jumped at the opportunity to join them.
A few weeks later, after he’d booked and paid for his travel, Peter was out of office and on his way to Ukraine with the team!
The pictures below provide just a brief glimpse into what Peter experienced when he was over there and highlights the positive change Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid’s efforts made. Swipe to see more.
Good Deed 10 doesn’t end there! In fact, there was also a lot of behind-the-scenes work that took place here at Aspect IT both before and after the trip took place.
In the weeks leading up to the trip, we set up a GoFundMe page to help Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid raise funds to pay for the gifts being given to the children.
On that GoFundMe page, we promised generous supporters who donated £50 or more a drawing from one of the children in the orphanage, as well as a certificate of appreciation.
Then, when Peter returned to the office with a stack of beautiful drawings, we got to work designing and printing certificates, as well as posting everything out to donors to further extend the group’s gratitude to those who supported them.
Fast forward to now and the trip may be over but the work being carried out by the amazing Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid is still ongoing.
In fact, the group are currently gearing up for their next trip to Ukraine where they will be delivering essential winter aid to women, children and hospitals.
On that note, if you’d like to get involved or donate to the group yourself, please visit their Facebook page, or their new GoFundMe page, also set up by us.
Feel free to also watch the video below, which we created for Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid, further documenting the Christmas trip.
We’re Not Done Yet!
10 Good Deeds are complete, but don’t forget, there’s still 10 more to go!
We’ve come across so many amazing charities, groups and individuals whilst carrying out these Good Deeds and our eyes have been opened to the inspiring work being carried out by people in our community.
We can’t wait to see where the reminder of our journey takes us and who we’ll meet and support along the way.
Make sure you’re following us on social media to come on that journey with us.
