We’re on a roll!
Here’s Good Deed 7 – donating to Tameside East Foodbank.
Last week, for our 7th Good Deed, we provided much-needed donations to Tameside East Foodbank who give emergency food to local people referred to them in a crisis.
After getting in touch with the foodbank directly, we went shopping, gathered items requested by them and drove it all down to New Life Church in Ashton-under-Lyne, one of the 4 local churches who have come together to work on stopping hunger in the area.
When we arrived to drop off the donations, we were met by some friendly volunteers, including Project Coordinator, Jean, who showed us around and talked us through the groups ongoing efforts.
It goes without saying, the work being carried out there is amazing and we’re proud to have contributed to a cause which directly helps our local community, especially with Christmas just around the corner.
You can read more about Tameside East Foodbank here.
Before we left, we had to take a picture with Jean in front of the church’s lovely Christmas tree!
Like many foodbanks, Tameside East rely on donations, like ours, from the local community.
If you’d like to donate to them yourselves, take a look at the various donation points on their website or get in touch with them on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Currently the foodbank are asking for tinned meat, tinned veg, cordial and biscuits to name a few.
It was an absolute pleasure to support the amazing work being carried out at Tameside East Foodbank for our 7th Good Deed.
Don’t forget – we’re on a journey to 20 Good Deeds in total so stay tuned and follow us on social media to see the remaining 13 unveiled one by one over the coming months.
As always, if any of our contacts would like to get involved, please get in touch with us.
