Good Deed 15: Donating to Hollingworth Hub Foodbank

We’re back again with another Good Deed and this time it’s number 15 – donating to Hollingworth Hub

We’re back again with another Good Deed and this time it’s number 15 – donating to Hollingworth Hub foodbank!

Hollingworth Hub, based at St Mary’s Church in Hollingworth, support their community with a variety of issues relating to topics such as housing, finances and mental health.

At the hub’s core is the foodbank – one of 3 local foodbanks that have come together to form the Trussell Trust Tameside South and Longdendale foodbank. Every Monday the foodbank at Hollingworth Hub opens, providing emergency food parcels to those who need it most.

If you’ve been following our journey to 20 Good Deeds, you’ll remember that we’ve donated to a couple of foodbanks previously.

As we now approach our target we felt keen to support at least one more foodbank, the reason for this being that each time we’ve visited one we’ve left feeling humbled and inspired by the amazing work being carried out there. Hollingworth Hub was no exception to this.

After heading to the shops and buying a variety of items requested by the foodbank, we drove down to St Mary’s Church where we were met by a group of friendly faces, including Dez and Gary.

We stopped for a few pictures with them and then, before leaving, had a look around the lovely church.

It was an absolute pleasure to support Hollingworth Hub foodbank and our donations will help the team there provide emergency food to those in crisis in the community.

Hollingworth Hub Need YOUR Help Too

Like most foodbanks, Hollingworth Hub rely on donations, like ours, from the local community.

On that note, if you’d like to donate to them too, take a look at the information available on the Tameside South and Longdendale foodbank website or contact info@tamesidesouthlongdendale.foodbank.org.uk

Currently the foodbanks are asking for tinned fruit and veg, tinned meat, long life milk, jam, shower gel, shampoo, savoury rice and dried noodles to name a few!

3/4 of the Way There!

The completion of our 15th Good Deed means we’re now ¾ of the way there towards our goal of 20!

Keep your eyes peeled for our 5 remaining Good Deeds coming soon – they’ll be revealed both on our blog and social media so feel free to follow us.
