If you’ve ever contacted our Helpdesk for IT support, chances are you’ve probably spoken to Alex!
Alex started with us back in 2019 as an apprentice.
Since then he’s become an invaluable member of the team, working his way up to become our Helpdesk Team Leader.
There’s never a dull moment with Alex in the office and seeing as though last week officially marked 4 years since he joined Aspect IT we thought what better time to shine the spotlight on him!
Carry on reading as we interview Alex… find out more about his role, progression and more importantly for some, what football team he supports 🤫⚽❤️
How has your role changed since starting at Aspect?
I first started at Aspect IT as an apprentice. After completing my apprenticeship I stayed on full time as a Helpdesk Engineer. Then, just a few months ago I became Helpdesk Team Leader!
Can you tell us a little more about your role as Helpdesk Team Leader?
As Helpdesk Team Leader I ensure that all calls and emails from our clients are answered as soon as possible. I’m also responsible for ensuring that the right job gets assigned to the right engineer and if a site visit is needed, I sort out who goes and when they go.
What is your favourite thing about working at Aspect?
The people! From the people I work with in the office to our clients, I enjoy speaking with them and getting to know them.
What’s been your biggest work-related achievement since starting at Aspect?
Passing my apprenticeship was a huge achievement for me, as well as transitioning to the position I am in now.
What advice would you give to someone considering a career in IT?
I would say be prepared for challenges! A career in IT means that you’re going to have to take on things you aren’t 100% sure on so you have to be ready for a challenge.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Music is a big passion of mine – I love collecting old records and I produce my own music from time to time. I also enjoy F1, going to the pub and football… Manchester is red!
